Stop the Plastic Pollution – Save Our Planet

Danni and Mark watched a video clip on National Geographic website.  They can never forget the picture of a bleeding turtle that was clearly in agony when someone pulled out a piece of a plastic straw from its nostril.

Plastic products, which are a substance the earth cannot digest, have caused huge and complicated problems to the environment and our health. You will be surprised about the amount of plastic people conveniently use and throw away each and every day. Where do they go eventually?

Danni and Mark believe all of us are accountable for the problems we have created and it is not too late to do something RIGHT NOW.  Waiting for the government could be too late. We ask you to join us to CREATIVELY reduce/stop use of plastic products starting in your immediate environment, including home, grocery stores, restaurants and work place. That straw in the turtle’s nose was probably thrown away by you or me. If you feel the same way as Danni and Mark do, please consider to take actions immediately and pass the information below to friends and families of yours.

Ways to reduce/stop the use of single use plastic:

1. Do not use bottle water; bring your own reusable water bottle as much as you can.
2. Use thermal bottle/mug for coffee to replace the Styrofoam cups.
3. Use glass containers to replace any plastic or styrofoam containers.
4. Bring your own reusable carrying bag for grocery shopping to replace the plastic bags supplied by the grocery stores.
5. Choose compostable bag for garbage generated from your kitchen.
6. Bring the plastic-products (including grocery bags) you want to toss to the grocery store stores (such as some Safeway) for recycle.
7. Refuse single –use plastic as much as you can.
8. Wash and reuse zip-lock bags.
