In 2025, Mark and Danni had an opportunity to visit the Eco Center in Bora Bora, French Polynesia. They learned not only about sea turtles in general, but also about the center’s unique conservation efforts, including the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and injured turtles, their release back into the ocean, public education on threats to sea turtle survival, and research expeditions to nesting grounds. This experience inspired them to search online for similar programs in Taiwan. Through this search, they discovered the Wild One Wildlife Conservation Association, the first wildlife rescue center in Taitung, Taiwan, and a potential partner for future collaboration.
